Selection Process in Postal Assistants / Sorting Assistants 2014 Recruitment

Indian Postal Department has announced recruitment of 8243 Postal assistant or sorting assistant for the year 2014. The candidates with 10+2 standard or 12thclass pass from a recognized university or Board of School Education can apply for the post on or before 27th March, 2014. Below is the selection process of Postal assistant/sorting assistant (exam pattern) in detail.

The Selection of Postal Assistants / Sorting Assistants will be done on the basis of the written exam and computer typing test. below is the detail exam pattern of Postal Assistants / Sorting Assistants Exam 2014.

Exam Pattern of Postal Assistants / Sorting Assistants 2014

The Exam pattern of Postal Assistants / Sorting Assistants consist of two paper, Paper 1 will have questions on General Knowledge, Mathematics, English subject and logical reasoning and analytical ability. below is the detail table of exam pattern of postal assistant/sorting assistants.

Paper - II  Computer/ Typing Test :- On the Paper 2, you have to appear on Computer/ Typing Test. On Computer Test, you will be given 15 minutes for typing and 15 minutes for data enter. so, total of 30 minutes of test one passage of 450 words in English OR 375 words in Hindi to be typed with a minimum speed of 30 words per minute or 25 words per minute respectively. Test in Data entry will be of some figures and letters each carrying equal marks on computer. The above test will be conducted on Computer Key board, but not on a typewriter. Further, the candidates have to secure prescribed qualifying marks in this test. The marks will be based on speed, and accuracy. This is a combined test, and marks in both the components will be put together for qualifying. 

Past Exam Papers of Postal Assistant Exam 2010.

After Written exam and computer test, common merit list for the whole Postal Circle will be uploaded on the official website of postal department. And on the basis of the merit list, candidate will be allocated for the job in india post department.

      Oc-12,Obc-9,Sc-8..

  11. I am in Kerala Circle and I am in OBC Category. I am secure 61 Marks and all parts above 9 marks. But I am not selected Part II (Computer Skill Test). Please said reason to me I am not short listed.

    1. you just have qualify in paper 2,Fianl merit list will be based on you marks in paper 1 and 12th standerd percentage...for ex-if you secure 70 in paper 1 it will be divided by 2 that is 35,and suppose you have secured 60% marks in 12th then 40% of that will be added to your marks.that is you total marks will be 59....and paper 2 marks will be added in that..so suppose you have just qualified in paper 2 from OC category..your total marks will be around 63-64...and if you are lucky enough you will be selected...and preference will be given to highly educated candidate..so if you have done PG and another person with same marks have done only graduation then between you and him you will be selected...Clear bro..

Is they will add 12th mark???..in notification they mentioned that merit list based no paper 1...no weightage mark will be given to 12th mark nu??? then how u r saying they will give weightage mark??!!! pls clarify my doubt......actually if they give weightage mark for 12th...i will be happy.......
