[Analysis] Important Topics for SSC CGL (Tier 1) Exam 2014

if you are going to apply for SSC CGL 2014 exam which is national level recruitment done by staff selection commission for graduates in india, then you must read this post. As per the Staff selection commission of india's scheduled the CGL exam will be conducted on End of April, 2014. For SSC CGL 2014, here i am listing important topics that can be asked in the CGL (Common Graduate Level) exam 2014. This analysis is based on the past exam papers of SSC CGL (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013).

For SSC CGL, you have to prepare little more as it is not easy as Cracking IBPS Exams. If you are finding difficulty in ibps exam then you have to start preparation form now only on daily basis. Only less than 3 months are left for the SSC CGL 2014 exam date, so I am posting this analysis report so it will help you to study more easily and important topics only. Next i will post subject wise study material for SSC CGL. I guess this will save your time to study for the cgl exam as I am eliminating those topics which are not going to ask in exam and point the important questions for cgl exam.

This analysis is for CGL Tier 1 exam, in which you will find questions on General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, General Intelligence and English skills. I guess you all have read the syllabus of SSC CGL 2014 exam on the official document, if not read it now. If you are done reading, let’s start now the important topics, subject wise.

Quantitative Aptitude for Tier - 1 SSC CGL Exam

Quantitative Aptitude is one of the hardest and most difficult sections in CGL exam, and for that reason, here is the list of important topics you need to study for maths section in CGL.

As you can see, Geometry and Trigonometry sections are quite important and their weight-age is keep increasing out of 50 questions.2nd important topics are percentage, data interpretation and algebra. Number theory is also good topic that you cannot ignore. One thing is sure that now SSC will ask you questions on important topic, not like surprise questions for you, any more.

General Awareness for Tier - 1 SSC CGL Exam

For General Awareness, you have to focus on General knowledge (sports, current affairs). i will advise you to keep ready your statics of general election of 2014 as SSC CGL 2014 exam is going to held on around this time and election will be perfect topic to cover in exam. 2nd you need to study and improve geography section and Indian history too. Biology, physics and chemistry are also above average in last 4 years.

it is look like now students of ssc cgl have to study like indian civil exam for general awareness subject. i am commenting like this because of the IMP questions are quite on focusing on GK which is not easy,Civil exams do have very tough questions.

Logical Reasoning and General Intelligence for Tier - 1 SSC CGL Exam

For general intelligence and reasoning section, till 2011 year questions on series (analogy, pairing, box of numbers) are quite frequently asked but in 2012 series section had highest no of question but in 2013 non-verbal section has high number of questions (at lest above average) and the reason, you have to focus more on non-verbal section a lot in this year too.

English ability for Tier - 1 SSC CGL Exam

For English section, most of the questions are from Vocabulary (fill in the blanks, synonyms, antonyms etc) has high no of questions and comprehension was quite ignored but in 2013 RC had 10 questions while vocab section weight age got reduced. So, for this year more focus on RC and vocab. Check the below table and graph where you can find the topic wise comparison of section in last four years.
