Below is the questions asked by one of our visitor about Advantage and Disadvantage of going for Online/Offline Exam for JEE Main. So, i think this might be question in many of students, so, better to write a detail answer then answering one in comment.

Question:- Could you please let me know what are the advantages & disadvantages of online exams and offline exams of jee mains and the criteria for selecting the offline or online exams. Will both have the same weight-age?

Answer :- First of all Weight age is same for any mode of the exam you take, Online or offline. Its just mode of exam, no special or additional marks will be given to anyone for online/offline mode of exam. So, don't think that there will some extra weight-age for online/offline mode, both are, it just the mode of exam.

Secondly, Which is best mode of exam, online or offline. See, Online and offline mode will do have different things, advantage and disadvantage. Offline mode, Pen and paper, the very long mode of exam, with almost all of you are aware, Right? So, it will be quite comfortable for all of you to give exam in Offline mode, but before choosing it, do read the Advantage of Online Mode of Exam.

Online Mode of JEE Main Exam

Online Mode of JEE Main Exam

Its a simple mode of exam where you have to give exam on computer where a software already installed, one by one questions will be flashed on your computer screen.

Advantage:- In online mode of exam, you will get chance to review the question for answering it later on. It means if you have doubt on any question or you feel that this questions needs more extra time and effort and you would like to answer it later on, then you can mark it for review. That question will be marked and highlighted with new color, so it will help you to remember it and you can answer it later on.

Also, online mode of exam have timer counter, so you don't have to keep watching on your watch to check the time left. Moreover, online mode of exam do not need to to answer with HB pencil, just simple click and answer the question, Simple! Defiantly, you will be provided with rough paper for rough work expects that, you will not given anything extra.

Disadvantage :- All questions need to answer on computer screen,so if you are not familiar with reading on computer screen, it will make issue for you. Expect that, i don't think any other disadvantage have for online mode of exam.

Offline Mode of JEE Main Exam

Offline Mode of JEE Main Exam

As mentioned above, its simple pen and paper exam, where you have to answer the questions on Answer sheet with HB pencil.

Advantage :- we are quite familiar with pen and paper exam, as from school time, we used to give exam on paper. Easy to read, fast to read on paper then computer screen. Easy to do rough work and to revise the answers.

Disadvantage :- Time consuming, it take too much time to answer, keep watching your watch to know how much time left. if you want to re-answer the question, its almost impossible. you need to bring pen, pencil to answer.

So, these are the advantage and disadvantage of both online and offline mode of JEE main exam. Now, you are quite clear that which mode you need to select while registering. If you have such query, do comment your query below, i will defiantly answer you, Thank you! :)

  5. If you tick a ques. in online exam and then say 'mark for review', will the answer be submitted or the ans is only submitted if you click on 'save'? I mean there are two types of reviews, one with which you can check out the ques. again and another with which you can choose an answer and then review it later if you are not sure. So, if we do second type of review, and the time gets over, then will the answer be submitted?
