Important Dates to remember during the month of October 2013.
7th October, 2013
e-payment of TDS & TCS, for the month of September, 2013.
15th October, 2013
Filing of Form 24Q, 26Q, 27Q and 27EQ for the 2nd quarter ending September,2013.
30th October, 2013
Issue Form 16A for 2nd quarter ending 30th sep, 2013
5th October, 2013
Payment of Service Tax other than by way of e-payment.
6th October, 2013
e-payment of Service Tax for the month of September 2013. (in case of persons other than individual, proprietor & partnership firms)
6th October, 2013
e-payment of Service Tax for the quarter ending September,2013 in case of individual, proprietor &partnership firm.
25th October, 2013
Service Tax return Half yearly 4/13 to 9/13
6th October, 2013
e-payment of Excise Duty for the month of September, 2013.
10th October, 2013
Filing of Excise Return for the month of September, 2013.
15th October, 2013
Deposit of EPF Contributions and Collections for the month of September 2013 with ECR
ESI - Employees' State Insurance
21th October, 2013
Deposit of ESI Contributions and Collections for the month of September 2013.

Current Rate of Service Tax
Service Tax Rate                                              = 12.00%

(+) Education Cess @ 2%                                 = 0.2%

(+) Senior & Higher Education Cess @ 1%           = 0.1%

Effective Service Tax Rate                                 = 12.36%

How to pay Service Tax online?

You can now pay the service tax online, just visit the site and follow the below mentioned steps to pay the service tax easily.

a) Click on the icon e-payment.
b) Click on ‘Please Click Here’ to proceed.
c) Enter 15-digit valid Assessee code
d) Select the respective type of duty / tax (accounting code)
e) Select the Bank name from the drop down provided.

f) After entering all the above detail, click on PROCEED button.

Step 2 for online payment of service tax

a) You can now verify the details entered by you. Click on “EDIT” in case of rectification.
b) Click on “SUBMIT to the Bank ” button. You will be directed to the net-banking site provided by your bank.

e-Payment facilitates payment of Excise Duty and Service Tax online by an Assessee. To avail of this facility the Assessee is required to have a net-banking account with any of the banks listed below, which are the only banks offering this facility at present.
